What’s New
I have been making some slight changes over at the gallery page on Pixieset. Each album continues to be accessible with a password, personally chosen by yourself the client. However, in addition, I have updated the album covers. To make your photographs even more private and personal to you. Here is an example of what you can expect when you reach the album page.

The freebie sessions for this year are still available for booking, so if you have a business or organization which you think may qualify, please get in touch to discuss more.

Competition
The competition closed last month on Saturday 18th May and one lucky winner was chosen at random for a free photoshoot for up to two hours of their choice. I’m sure you will all join me in congratulating the lucky winner.
Please keep a look out for any more upcoming competitions, you never know when the next one may appear!
Sponsors and Charities
Sponsors:
I am looking for up to four sponsors for Ali Watson Photography, one sponsor for each main package offered (two for Portraits and one each for equines and canines).
Please get in touch for more information or refer back to previous blog posts where more information has been given.
Charities:
As the business develops, I hope to introduce a charity scheme. Wherewith ever photography shoot booked 10% of the fees will be donated to a charity. As a small business I would ideally like to donate to small local charities, so if you have any suggestions, please let me know. If I can, I would like the charities to link closely to the different photography sessions I offer (so anything which would support children, young people and families, canines and animals and any equine charities).
Photography [tips] Shared
As I haven't got any new photographs to share this month, I thought I would share some tips and tricks for getting that eye catching photograph. Have ago at using some of these suggestions next time you take a photo, and never be afraid to experiment.
· Rule of Thirds : One of the fundamental rules in photography is the rule of thirds. Imagine breaking an image into thirds both horizontally and vertically to create a grid. By placing key elements along these gridlines, you can compose a well-balanced and visually appealing shot.
· Play with Lighting : Lighting can make or break a photo. Experiment with natural light, artificial light, and different times of the day to understand how lighting influences the mood and atmosphere of your images.
· Use Depth of Field : By adjusting your camera's aperture settings, you can control the depth of field in your photos. A shallow depth of field can create a beautiful bokeh effect, while a deep depth of field is ideal for landscapes.
· Experiment with Angles : Don't be afraid to crouch down, climb up high, or shoot from unusual angles to add a creative touch to your photos. Changing your perspective can lead to unique and engaging compositions.
· Post-Processing Magic : Editing your photos can enhance their visual impact. Explore editing tools and software to adjust exposure, contrast, colour balance, and other aspects to polish your images.
Opening Times
Half Term has just finished and it’s only seven weeks until the summer holidays begin, please be aware of the changes to the summer holiday times as they may differ from the above. Don’t forget to book in early to avoid disappointment.
That’s all for now, see you next time.
