November Monthly Blog

What’s New

Hello, you may have noticed I didn’t post a blog over October, and I very nearly didn’t post one this month either. Purely due to not having any content, and not really wanting to post for no reason, so I decided to give October a miss. But here we are, halfway through November, and Christmas is once again just around the corner. There's not a lot new going on at the moment, and the last few months have been pretty quiet in regard to photography.

However, in September I did start going to the local photography society groups, I’ve attended six of the eight sessions so far, all of which have been fully informative and interesting. They also provide a range of different photography style groups which I am able to join and competitions throughout the year, with a few photography trips thrown in as well. I haven’t been able to attend any so far due to other work commitments, but I hope to in the near future and build on my photography journey in this way.

In my last blog post, I mentioned I finally went to see Hamilton with some of the family, which I fully enjoyed, well my theatre outings didn’t stop there. In October we went on another theatre trip, this time we saw Ghost, the musical. Now some of you will know I have regular singing lessons and have done for over ten years. I have been having lessons with my current teacher for just over eight years now, and one of the songs we occasionally sing is from Ghost, so I have listened to the soundtrack regularly on repeat, before even going to see the show. I have many favourite songs from the show, so it was a musical I did not want to miss out on and boy, it did not disappoint! It is definitely up there in my list of favorites, and I highly recommend seeing it, if you get the chance.

Sponsors and Charities

Sponsors:

I am looking for up to four sponsors for Ali Watson Photography, one sponsor for each main package offered (two for Portraits and one each for equines and canines).

Please get in touch for more information or refer back to previous blog posts where more information has been given.

Charities:

As the business develops, I hope to introduce a charity scheme. Where, with ever photography shoot booked 10% of the fees will be donated to a charity. As a small business I would ideally like to donate to small local charities, so if you have any suggestions, please let me know. If I can, I would like the charities to link closely to the different photography sessions I offer (so anything which would support children, young people and families, canines and animals and any equine charities).

Other News

In other news this month, I am looking into starting up a children’s art club to run alongside the photography, especially during the quieter seasons.

Sessions will consist of a range of different art and craft activities, from drawing and painting within sketch books, to clay modelling, mug decorating and printing. This is still in the developmental stages so, please get in touch to register your interest and for more details or follow the Facebook page at Aspiring Horizons Art Club to keep up to date.

That’s all for now, see you next time.
