🌿 February Focus: Quiet Days, Gentle Planning, and Creative Resetting

February often arrives with a softer pace, and I can already feel that beginning to settle in. It’s usually the kind of month where the camera doesn’t come out as much as I would like, and I end up taking more personal photos on my phone of my own animals and family members. These in-between weeks are often where the real creative resets happens: the space to think, to plan, and to reconnect with the kind of work I want to create as the years unfolds.

Even without a full calendar of sessions, this time of year always brings its own kind of inspiration. I’m using these quieter days to reflect on the stories I want to tell, explore new ideas for the month ahead, and gently prepare for the shift into spring. Sometimes the quieter seasons are exactly what we need to step back, breathe, and return to the camera with fresh eyes.

Seasonal Sessions and On-Location Prep

While January and February have been quieter on the photography front, they’ve given me the chance to focus on the practical side of getting ready for the year ahead. I’ve been organizing my kit, updating my clients guides, and making sure everything behind the scenes is running smoothly so that when sessions pick up again, the whole experience feels calm and effortless for you. I’ve also been refining the way I support families and pet owners before their shoots – from simple what-to-expect notes to gentle tips that help everyone feel relaxed on the day. It’s not the most glamourous part of the job, but these small preparations make such a difference once we’re out on location or in the comfort of your home capturing those natural, meaningful moments.

📸 A Call for New Faces

I’ve already had some wonderful interest in this amazing offer of free mini sessions to help refresh my website and my socials media, but I’m still on the lookout for a few dog and equine models. If that sounds like something you’d enjoy being part of, I would love to hear from you.

These sessions are gentle, fun, and completely unhurried – perfect for little ones, energetic pets, or anyone who prefers a natural, authentic style of photography.

If you’d like to take part, feel free to send me a message. I’d love to create something beautiful with You.

🌼 Looking Towards Spring

As we move closer to spring, I’ve been spending some time thinking about the sessions I would love to create once the weather begins to warm and the colours start returning. Spring always brings fresh sense of possibility, and even though my calendar isn’t overflowing just yet, I’m using this quieter season to plan ahead, explore new ideas, and shape the kind of work I want to welcome in. Whether it’s outdoor family sessions, pet portraits, or relaxed in-home storytelling lifestyle, I’m excited to see how the next few months unfold. If you’re someone who enjoys getting organized early, this is a lovely moment to start chatting about spring dates.

🪻 Lavender Mini Sessions

As spring gets closer, I’m excited to offer a small number of lavender mini sessions this year. Lavender season is short but beautifully atmospheric – soft light, gentle colour, and a calm setting that works wonderfully for families, children, dogs and horses.

To help grow my portfolio, I’m opening a limited number of introductory lavender minis at £60, with the standard price of £75 applying once those early spaces are filled. These sessions are relaxed, natural, and unhurried – perfect if you’re hoping for something simple and seasonal.

If you’d like to register your interest or secure one of the introductory spots, just send me a message. I’d love to create something soft and joyful with you among the blooms.

🌿 Freebies

If you already follow along on my socials, you’ll have seen some of the freebies I’ve been sharing across the different platforms – and there are more on the way this month too. If you haven’t had chance to explore them yet, you can find everything gathered in one place over on the main site click here. It is a lovely little collection designed to make planning your sessions feel simple, calm, and enjoyable.

🤝 Community Partners

I love collaborating with local businesses and creative people who share the same values of kindness, connection, and community. From dog trainers and stables to children’s groups, small independent shops, and local businesses, these partnerships help me offer a richer experience to the families and pets I photograph.

Throughout 2026, this is where you’ll find the wonderful people and places, I’m proud to work alongside.

If you think this may be something your community may want to get involved with, please get in touch.

Please be aware that my availability is slightly different over the half-term break and some sessions have already been booked in advance. If the time you were hoping for isn’t showing as available, it simply means that slot has already been reserved. Please feel free to get in touch if you need help finding a time that works - I’m always happy to guide you through the options.

I'll leave it there for now. Thanks for reading.
